Nagaland is a small vibrant hill state in the North eastern corner of India. It came in to existence as a state in 1963. Nagaland shares its borders with Myanmar and the Indian states of Assam, Raunchily Pradesh, and [Manipur. Most of the region of the state is mountainous. Nagaland is inhabited by 16 major tribes, which have their distinct festivals, language and dress.

Location: Approximately lies between 25°6' and 27°4' latitude, North of Equator and between the longitudinal lines 93°20'E and 95°15'E.

Flight: Dimapur, the only airport in Nagaland, is connected by air to Delhi and Calcutta and rest of the country.
Rail way: Dimapur is also connected to the main line of North-Eastern Frontier Railway.
Roads: All important towns and villages in the State are connected by the Bus service from Dimapur to Guwahati, Shillong, and Mokokchung.
Entry Formalities: All foreign tourist visiting Nagaland require Restricted Area Permits ( RAP ) from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, which will be processed by the tour operator.
Kohima The picturesque state capital of Nagaland is the KOHIMA, overlooking the beautiful valley with panoramic views of the rugged Naga Hills. It is situated at an altitude of 4900 ft. It was here that the British along with Indian troops defeated the Japanese army in World War II.
The World War II cemetery well maintained by commonwealth war graves commission is a symbolic memorial commemorating the memories of the officers and men who sacrificed their lives during World War II is a must to visit. The war memories, audiovisual show and the war artifacts at the newly opened War Museum at kiesa, is an interesting place not to miss. This is also a famous place where the most popular Nagalands “HORN BILL” festival is performed every year.
