White River Rafting in Bhutan

White River Rafting in Bhutan is a recent tourist Adventure sport initated by the Department of Tourism. During the recent survey of rivers in Bhutan, the following rivers are found to be suited for River Rafting and Kayaking.

Paro Chu [West Bhutan] Class 3-4
Mo chu [West Bhutan] Class 4
Mangde Chu [central Bhutan] Class 4-5
Gamre Chu [East Bhutan] Class 4+
Dangme Chu [East Bhutan] Class 4-5
Kuri Chu [East Bhutan] Class 5

The Pho Chu and Mo Chu, (Male & Female River) Mangde Chu and Wang Chu are chosen to be the best rivers for River Rafting.

CHOICE:

During your visit to Bhutan, If you are interested can choose to take any of the below programs on Rafting to fit in to your programme.

1. Half day scenic float trip on the lower Mo Chu to Punakha Dzong
  Grade of River: 1 - 11+

2. One Day Upper Mo Chu to Punakha Dzong
  Grade of River: Upper section 3 to 4/4+
Lower section 1 –11+
Hours on the river: 5-6 hours

Departure: Upon confirmation
Seasons: February-April and September-December.
3. One Day Pho Chu- Samdenkha/Lorina to Punakha Dzong
2 hours easy Trek to Samdenkha from Punakha Dzong
  Grade of River:
Upper section 1 to 3/3+
and 4 on the “ Warthful Buddha”
Hours on the river:
2-3 hours
Group Size:
4-8 Person

For all trips you will be provided with NRS self bailing rafts, wetsuits, dry tops helmets and a professional raft guide.
